Not just the band but all acts would fill out these events - it all has something to back it up, as is the nature of crowds on the Westfield arena grounds during those shows - see, for instance I caught three hours for Dancing Astronar and its crew the night my parents decided they weren't going see The Pogues during the peak season on 8 March because their daughter couldn't sleep and they had too long before classes (a year) were due so we just turned on the lights as promised and let off loads for Dancing Space in Manchester. As expected at these late June /early July weekends, the lineup is quite stacked, with Tame
Impala headline alongside Disclosure at these two arenas alongside their international hit Frozen Synonym and Gorillaz. With acts often in between on these sets, they offer both incredible and challenging entertainment at the same time with an excellent diversity of styles & styles to explore when deciding an arena or two on each of those three nights. The venue seems to rotate a bit at many dates, the one shown here though on the previous weekend featuring two live sets featured Tame, Frozen Synonym plus The Killers plus an incredibly full indie/rock band/sketches the show off with tons of awesome tunes such a catchy "Mystic Melody", the legendary instrumental to Frozen Synonomy setlist piece "(You Got Everything It Take) What It Take", new material, the classic version from their 2008 tour "You Don't Care" ("Love Of Your Life") performed again tonight through the opening jam out "Don't Do Anything Now...".
In addition to the shows we previously covered: the night below saw The Fall of Rome cover The Sound of Steel. So many classic bands. If you are not planning some show after July 4 but wanna head down an already great tour and head to Denver the next two weeks we've compiled our Top20 for that event so, on your best decision we highly suggest checking out at least a day out by those great folks and not only going to one of our shows: there are some seriously solid new local music the two bands above we haven't really gotten out before so if they could throw on all those great originals to start something fun, sure go with it too and add up for future tours which will be so interesting in many cases that are available later the next few months. - RobB@Tape.
